The beaches of La Paz are highly valued for their charm.  Together, they make up a seductive chain of perfect nooks for pleasant relaxation and serene recreation, linked one after another and offering their best attributes.  While some offer palapas, restaurant services and marine activity equipment rentals, others like Balandra Beach are conserved free of infrastructure.

The beaches’ close proximity to the capital makes them seem like a natural extension.  Only 5 kilometers (3 miles) away on the panoramic highway to Pichilingue, visitors arrive at Coromuel Beach, Additionally, they can find Caimancito Beach, just 6.5 kilometers (4 miles) away with its innovative Acuario de las Californias Aquarium, where they can find a recently inaugurated tourist development that includes a new marina.  El Tesoro Beach is 14 kilometers (9 miles) outside of the capital. Pichilingue Beach is another 17 kilometers (11 miles) away. Here, there is a ferry terminal in operation that receives vessels from both domestic and foreign ports.

Just 25 kilometers (16 miles) away, visitors have access to Puerto Balandra, with its enormous mushroom-shaped stone, the symbol of La Paz.  It is a salt water lagoon which results from a gathering of eight bays. Crystalline waters bathe its tranquil beaches where families come to have fun walking, kayaking, snorkeling and scuba diving.

Twenty-seven kilometers (17 miles) away and across from Espíritu Santo Island, visitors can enjoy El Tecolote beach. With full services, it is one of the largest and most visited beaches in the region. Various water sports are available here. The beach tour ends at El Coyote, located 29 kilometers (18 miles) away.

Following the same route, 44 kilometers (27 miles) farther down the road is the beautiful bay of La Ventana. The surrounding beaches invite its visitors to camp, windsurf and enjoy the landscape. There is nothing better than spending some time on neighboring Cerralvo Island which offers El Sargento Beach.
